In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

European Leagues Ligue 1

BEST PLAYERS IN LIGUE 1 – FRANCE (APR 2024)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in Ligue 1 until the 1st of April (2023/2024 Season). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with a minimum of 1300 minutes played in the league. Assessing all the positions, coupled with the evaluation of a lot of factors and indicators in their games, we can generate the ratings for the players performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

GOALKEEPERS (GKs):

  1. Marco Bizot (Brest)
  2. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain)
  3. Brice Samba (Lens)
  4. Marcin Bułka (Nice)
  5. Mory Diaw (Clermont Foot)

With incredible performances, Marco Bizot is the Best Performing Goalkeeper until April. While playing for Brest, Bizot is having an incredible season as the clear first choice. As I have shown, Gianluigi Donnarumma is in second place on the average rating list ahead of Lens’s Brice Samba, Nice’s Marcin Bułka and Clermont Foot’s Mory Diaw.

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice)
  2. Dante (Nice)
  3. Danilo Pereira (Paris Saint-Germain)
  4. Wilfried Singo (Monaco)
  5. Facundo Medina (Lens)

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the top part is stacked with quality players: as a matter of fact, Jean-Clair Todibo leads the average rating of Centre-Backs in Ligue 1 until April in the 2023-2024 Season. Equally, we can see that he is being followed by his teammate Dante, Paris Saint-Germain’s Danilo Pereira, Monaco’s Wilfried Singo and Lens’s Facundo Medina.

FULL-BACKS (FBs) and WING-BACKS (WBs):

  1. Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain)
  2. Bradley Locko (Brest)
  3. Kenny Lala (Brest)
  4. Ruben Aguilar (Lens)
  5. Melvin Bard (Nice)

As shown above, in a spot filled with a top team player, we can see that Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi archived the highest average ratings among Full-Backs and Wing-Backs until April. Being, without doubt, quality Full-Backs, Bradley Locko, Melvin Bard and Ruben Aguilar are three of the best talents in this positions. To conclude, we can also see that Brest’s Kenny Lala is having a great season.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Pierre Lees-Melou (Brest)
  2. Vitinha (Paris Saint-Germain)
  3. Téji Savanier (Montpellier)
  4. Maxence Caqueret (Lyon)
  5. Aleksandr Golovin (Monaco)

As a result of his great impact in Brest’s style of play, Pierre Lees-Melou has the highest average rating among Midfielders and Wingers in Ligue 1. Another case of great impact is Téji Savanier: while playing for Montpellier, Savanier is having an incredible season as the clear key piece in the midfield. To conclude, we can also see that Pierre Lees-Melou is being followed by Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha, Lyon’s Maxence Caqueret and Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain)
  2. Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco)
  3. Jonathan David (Lille)
  4. Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

As can be seen in the graph above, Kylian Mbappé, considered by many the best player in the French League, has the highest average rating among all Centre-Fowards. As a result of his performances, Kylian Mbappé is significantly ahead of his competition. To conclude the Top 5, we can see that the list also features great players like Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder, Lille’s Jonathan David, Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Marseille’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

As I have shown, Gregor Kobel is in second place on the average rating list ahead of Werder Bremen’s Michael Zetterer, Bochum’s Manuel Riemann and Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann.

As shown above, in a top section filled with top teams players, Bayer Leverkusen’s Álex Grimaldo archived the highest average ratings among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position until April. Being, without doubt, quality Full-backs/Wing-Backs, Maximilian Mittelstädt, David Raum and Alphonso Davies are three of the best talents in this league. To conclude, we can see that RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Henrichs is having a great season.

As can be seen in the graph above (and considered one of the best players in this year’s German League), Serhou Guirassy has the highest average rating among all Centre-Fowards. As a result of his performances, Serhou Guirassy is significantly ahead of his competition with the exception of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. After all, to finish off the Top 5, we can see that the list features good players like Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush, RB Leipzig’s Loïs Openda and Werder Bremen’s Marvin Ducksch.
