A Glimpse at the Premier League 2024/25: Mid-Season Recap

First thing to remember in our analysis is that we evaluate all the players who played in the Premier League 2024/25 until the Mid-Season mark (Matchweek 19 included). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers in the league. Assessing all the positions, coupled with the evaluation of a lot of factors and indicators in their games, we can generate the ratings for the players performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

Accordingly to our algorithm, Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Arsenal were the best performing teams until now. While Liverpool was our best team, Chelsea also had great dynamics. As shown above, Tottenham and Newcastle have played really good football, with a Team Average Rating higher than a few teams above them in the league table.

In terms of the best players in the Premier League, Mo Salah had undoubtedly great performances. Equally, at a really high level, we can spot Cole Palmer: Chelsea’s Attacking-Mid has been one of the most consistently good players in the last few months. A fun fact about this list is the lack of players from Tottenham despite being one of the best rated teams.

All things considered, the Premier League agglomerates a talent pool of the most talented players. Therefore, it’s no surprise that this list includes great players like Savinho, Baleba, Rico Lewis, Lewis Hall, Liam Delap, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen.

To be sure of who is the most important player in the league, we present our MVP Leaderboard where we conclude who was the player with the most impact on their team on this Mid-Season mark. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the Top 5 of this list are from different teams. Particularly in his last (?) season on the Liverpool squad, Salah has shown a lot of quality on the field: with 17 goal scored and 13 assists, Mo Salah has shown that he can be the best player in this league.
