LEAGUE RECAP: SERIE A 23/24 (ITALY)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Serie A in the 2023/2024 Season. In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers in the league. Assessing all the positions, coupled with the evaluation of a lot of factors and indicators in their games, we can generate the ratings for the players performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

With some great performances, Yann Sommer is the best performing Goalkeeper in the League. While playing for Inter, Sommer has been really solid and stable in goal. As shown above, Torino’s Vanja Milinković-Savić finished in second place on the average rating list ahead of Monza’s GK Michele Di Gregorio, AC Milan’s GK Mike Maignan & Juventus’s GK Wojciech Szczęsny.

As shown above, his teammate, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, finished in third place on the average rating list ahead of AC Milan’s Yacine Adli & Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson while being behind Lazio’s Luis Alberto.

Considered one of the best players in the league, Lautaro Martínez has the highest average rating among all Centre-Fowards in the Serie A. As a result of their performances, this list has a lot of quality players like Albert Guðmundsson, Marcus Thuram, Joshua Zirkzee & Charles De Ketelaere.

In this case, I think it’s important to analyse the best players outside the Top 3 (Inter, AC Milan & Juventus), teams that have a greater financial and even sporting strength.

In summary, our analysis evaluates all the players who played in the Group Stage of Euro 2024. In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers in the league. GROUP A – BEST PERFORMERS:

With some great performances, Jamal Musiala is, unquestionably, the best performing player from the German National Team. While being the organising country, Germany has 8 out of the Top 10 players in Group A. As shown above, Switzerland’s Dan Ndoye & Hungary’s Roland Sallai are the other players breaking into the Top 10. All things considered, the Scottish National Team had a tough Group Stage.

In terms of the group of death, Spain dominated: as a matter of fact, Fabián Ruiz is the best performing player form the Spanish National Team. Equally, we can see that Josip Stanišić & Riccardo Calafiori are the best performing player from their respective NT. Emphatically, we need to the highlight the two players from Croatia, who suffered their elimination in a devastating way in the last few minutes of the game against Italy.

GROUP C – BEST PERFORMERS:

As a result of his great impact in Slovenia’s results, Jan Oblak has the highest average rating among all players in Group C. At the same time, behind him, we can see players from the English & Serbian National Team. In a difficult to watch Group Stage, England have been disappointing despite having all the conditions to present an attractive type of football, with goals & with an exciting style to watch. Equally important, I think it’s necessary to reinforce and praise Strahinja Pavlović’s performances for Serbia!

GROUP D – BEST PERFORMERS:

As shown above, in a group filled with great players, Kylian Mbappé archived the highest average rating. Being, without doubt, one of the biggest revelations in the tournament, Austria has 2 players in the Top 5 of the list. Despite playing in Saudi Arabia, Kanté has shown great physical condition, especially towards the end of games. To conclude, we can see that Gakpo & Verbruggen have been the better Dutch players in the disappointing Group Stage.

GROUP E

GROUP E – BEST PERFORMERS:

All things considered, and with some great performances, Anatolii Trubin is the best performing player in this group. While playing for Ukraine, Trubin stepped up with really solid performances in this tournament. First thing to remember about Group E is that all four Goalkeepers are in the Top 10 performing list. To emphasise the balance in this Group, every National Team has at least 2 players in the Top 10 Performing List of Group E!

GROUP F

GROUP F – BEST PERFORMERS:

In terms of the amount of players, the Top 10 is stacked with quality players & a lot of players from Portugal: as a matter of fact, Pepe leads the list of the Best Performing Player in Group F at 41 Years old! Equally, we can see that Georges Mikautadze is having a really good tournament being the top goalscorer in the Euro 2024 Group Stage. All things considered, the Czech National Team had a really tough Group Stage.

TOP PLAYERS – EURO 2024 GROUP STAGE

All things considered, the Euro has some of the best players in the world. Therefore, we can say that this Top 10 features some incredible performers like Fabián Ruiz from Spain, Pepe from Portugal and Kylian Mbappé from France. As shown above, Portugal, Spain & France are the only National Teams with two players in this Top 10. Equally important, Croatia & Ukraine have a player in the top performers list despite being eliminated in the Group Stage!

TOP PLAYERS PER NT – EURO 2024 GROUP STAGE

At the present time, Fabian Ruiz has been the Best Player at Euro 2024. One of the biggest disappointments at this Euro was Czechia: despite having players of immense quality, we can see, from the graph below, that their best players was the lowest among all NT. We can also see that the Goalkeepers were among the most outstanding players in the Euro 2024 Group Stage.
