EFL Championship Archives

During our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the EFL Championship (2023/2024 Season). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with more than 2070 minutes played in the competition (50% Total Possible Game Time). Assessing all the positions, coupled with the evaluation of a lot of factors and indicators in their games, we can generate the ratings for the players performances in the specific positions. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

GOALKEEPERS (GKs):

As a result of his incredible performances, Mads Hermansen is the Best Performing Goalkeeper in this season. While playing for Leicester City, Mads Hermansen is having a really good season helping his team win the Championship. As I have shown above, Ipswich Town’s Václav Hladký is in second place on the average rating list ahead of Norwich City’s Angus Gunn, Coventry City’s Bradley Collins and Millwall’s Matija Šarkić.

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the top part is stacked with quality players: as a matter of fact, Jannik Vestergaard leads the average rating of Centre-Backs in the Championship. Equally, we can see that he is being followed by Southampton’s duo Taylor Harwood-Bellis & Jan Bednarek, his teammate Wout Faes and Watford’s Wesley Hoedt.

As shown above, in the top spots filled with quality players, we can see that Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters archived the highest average ratings among all Full-Backs and Wing-Backs. Being, without doubt, talented players, Ricardo Pereira and Callum Brittain are two of the best performing players in this positions. To conclude, we can also see that Cardiff City’s Perry Ng and Sunderland’s Trai Hume had great performances.
