With the conclusion of the season, it is possible to conduct a player analysis that measures which players had the most positive impact on their team as well as the players with the best individual performances during the season. The ratings model that we made allows us to find that out. The players with the highest average ratings during the season are the players that fulfil the premises presented previously. For this analysis, the selected players are required to have a minimum of 800 minutes over the season, not taking into account the type of defence used nor the position played.
Player of the Tournament: Europa League 22-23.
Through the average ratings obtained, we understand that Orkun Kökçü, Feyenoord’s Midfielder (M), was the player with the highest average rating of this years Europa League (following the minutes played condition – minimum 800 minutes played in this tournament). In our player standings, we can see that Orkun Kökçü is followed by Robin Knoche (CB – Union Berlin), Bruno Fernandes (M&W – Man. United), Dávid Hancko (CB – Feyenoord) and Ivan Rakitić (M – Sevilla). Only I. Rakitić represented a team that reached the Europa League Final.
Orkun Kökçü was a key part of this Feyenoord squad that managed to reach the Conference League Final in 21-22 and the Europa League Quarter-Final in 22-23.
