In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

Eredivisie European Leagues

BEST PLAYERS IN EREDIVISIE – NETHERLANDS (JAN 2024)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Eredivise until January (2023/2024 Season). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with a minimum of 700 minutes played in the league. Assessing all the positions, we evaluate a lot of factors and indicators in their games that allow us to generate the ratings for their performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

GOALKEEPERS (GKs):

  1. Walter Benítez (PSV Eindhoven)
  2. Justin Bijlow (Feyenoord)
  3. Mathew Ryan (AZ Alkmaar)

Playing for the current first place in the league, Walter Benítez has an incredible defensive record with PSV. In similar fashion, Justin Bijlow and Mathew Ryan are repeated “appearances”, maintaining their presence in the Top 3 ranking among GK’s in the Eredivisie.

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Dávid Hancko (Feyenoord)
  2. Jorrel Hato (Ajax)
  3. Olivier Boscagli (PSV Eindhoven)

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the Top 3 ranking is led by one of the best players outside the Top 5 European Leagues: Dávid Hancko. As a matter of fact, Dávid Hancko leads the average rating of the Centre-Backs in the Eredivise until January in the 2023-2024 Season but he is being followed closely by Jorrel Hato, one of the biggest talents in the World.

FULL-BACKS (FBs) and WING-BACKS (WBs):

  1. Calvin Verdonk (NEC Nijmegen)
  2. Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord)
  3. Sergiño Dest (PSV Eindhoven)

As shown above, in a Top 3 lead by a good margin, Calvin Verdonk archived the highest average ratings among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position until January. Being, without doubt, the biggest surprise in the Eredivisie, Calvin Verdonk is having a defining moment in his career.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Joey Veerman (PSV Eindhoven)
  2. Mats Wieffer (Feyenoord)
  3. Johan Bakayoko (Feyenoord)

Being, undoubtedly, one of the best players in the world (in the current season), Joey Veerman has the highest average ratings in the league among midfielders and wingers. Despite not being the flashiest player, Rodri has an incredible impact in the PSV squad that remains undefeated in the Eredivisie – January 2024.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Vangelis Pavlidis (AZ Alkmaar)
  2. Luuk de Jong (PSV Eindhoven)
  3. Santiago Giménez (Feyenoord)

In a league with incredible play at the top half, Vangelis Pavlidis has the highest average rating among strikers in the Eredivisie until January. As a result of his performances, Pavlidis is responsible for more than half of AZ’s goals. We can also see that Pavlidis is the top goalscorer in the league, followed by Santiago Giménez and Luuk de Jong.

BEST PLAYERS IN PREMIER LEAGUE – ENGLAND (JAN 2024)

With another great season, Allisson is the best performing goalkeeper in the Premier League until January. Playing for the current first place in the league, Allisson is one of the main reasons for Liverpool being the best defense in the league.

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Manuel Akanji (Manchester City)
  2. Lewis Dunk (Brighton & Hove Albion)
  3. William Saliba (Arsenal)

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the Top 3 is led by one of the biggest surprises in the English Premier League. As a matter of fact, Manuel Akanji leads the average rating of Centre-Backs in the Premier League until January in the 2023-2024 Season. Equally, we can see that he is being followed closely by Lewis Dunk and William Saliba.

  1. Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United)
  2. Pedro Porro (Tottenham Hotspur)
  3. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

As shown above, in a Top 3 lead by a good margin, Trippier archived the highest average ratings among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position until January. Being, without doubt, one of the most exciting players in the English League, Trippier is having another great season. We also need to emphasise the tremendous season Pedro Porro is having.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Rodri (Manchester City)
  2. Pascal Groß (Brighton & Hove Albion)
  3. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

Considered, by our website, the Best Player of the Last Season, Rodri has the highest average ratings in the league among midfielders and wingers. Despite not being the flashiest player, Rodri has an incredible impact in the Manchester City squad.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
  2. Abdoulaye Doucouré (Everton)
  3. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

In a Top 3 led by Erling Haaland, the main surprise is Doucouré. Contrarily to the season preview, Doucouré is Everton’s key player for this years style of play since he plays closely to the striker position. Either way, Haaland leads the average rating among strikers in the Premier League until January 2024.
