In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

European Leagues Ligue 1

BEST PLAYERS IN LIGUE 1 – FRANCE (FEB 2024)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Ligue 1 until February (2023/2024 Season). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with a minimum of 900 minutes played in the league. Assessing all the positions, we evaluate a lot of factors and indicators in their games that allow us to generate the ratings for their performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

GOALKEEPERS (GKs):

  1. Marco Bizot (Brest)
  2. Marcin Bułka (Nice)
  3. Brice Samba (Lens)

With good performances, Marcin Bułka is the best performing goalkeeper in the Ligue 1 until February. Playing for the current second place in the league, Marcin Bułka is one of the main reasons for Nice being the best defense in the league.

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice)
  2. Dante (Nice)
  3. Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain)

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the Top 3 is led by one of the biggest talents in the world right now. As a matter of fact, Jean-Clair Todibo leads the average rating of Centre-Backs in the Ligue 1 until February in the 2023-2024 Season. Equally, we can see that he is being followed closely by two quality Brazilian players: Dante and Marquinhos.

FULL-BACKS (FBs) and WING-BACKS (WBs):

  1. Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain)
  2. Melvin Bard (Nice)
  3. Ruben Aguilar (Lens)

As shown above, in a Top 3 lead by an incredible margin, Hakimi archived the highest average ratings among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position until February. Being, without doubt, one of the most exciting players in the French League, Hakimi is having yet another great season.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Vitinha (Paris Saint-Germain)
  2. Téji Savanier (Montpellier)
  3. Romain Del Castillo (Brest)

As a result of the talent and the attacking style of play, Vitinha has archived the highest average rating in the league among midfielders and wingers. Despite not being among the best teams in the league, Savanier and Del Castillo are shining in Ligue 1.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain)
  2. Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco)
  3. Jonathan David (Lille)

In this situation where the Top 3 is led by Kylian Mbappé, we can see that the other strikers are far from the level shown by PSG’s Centre-Foward. Kylian Mbappé leads the average rating among strikers in Ligue 1 until February.

Eredivisie European Leagues

BEST PLAYERS IN EREDIVISIE – NETHERLANDS (FEB 2024)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Eredivisie until February. In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with a minimum of 900 minutes played in the league. Assessing all the positions, we evaluate a lot of factors and indicators in their games that allow us to generate the ratings for their performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

  1. Walter Benítez (PSV Eindhoven)
  2. Mathew Ryan (AZ Alkmaar)
  3. Justin Bijlow (Feyenoord)

With incredible performances, the Top 3 Goalkeepers in the league are from the Top 3 teams in the ranking. Walter Benítez is the best performing goalkeeper until February but he is being followed by AZ Alkmaar’s GK Matt Ryan.

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Dávid Hancko (Feyenoord)
  2. Jorrel Hato (Ajax)
  3. Olivier Boscagli (PSV Eindhoven)

Accordingly to our ratings system, the Top 3 Centre-Backs are filled with quality players. As a matter of fact, Dávid Hancko leads the average rating of Centre-Backs in the Eredivisie until February. Equally, we can see that he is being followed really closely by Jorrel Hato, one of the best young stars in the Eredivisie that it is expected to move on to even greater clubs and leagues in the summer.

FULL-BACKS (FBs) and WING-BACKS (WBs):

  1. Calvin Verdonk (NEC Nijmegen)
  2. Sergiño Dest (PSV Eindhoven)
  3. Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord)

As shown above, this Top 3 includes the first player outside the “big teams” in the Netherlands: Calvin Verdonk archived the highest average rating among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Joey Veerman (PSV Eindhoven)
  2. Mats Wieffer (Feyenoord)
  3. Calvin Stengs (Feyenoord)

With an incredible start of the season, Joey Veerman has the highest average rating in the league. Considered by us to be the best player in the league right now, it is important to realize that Veerman is a key player in the PSV squad that archived an unbeaten streak until Matchday 20.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Vangelis Pavlidis (AZ Alkmaar)
  2. Luuk de Jong (PSV Eindhoven)
  3. Santiago Giménez (Feyenoord)

In a league with incredible play at the top, Vangelis Pavlidis has the highest average rating among strikers in the Eredivisie until February. As a result of his performances, Pavlidis is responsible for most of AZ’s offensive output. All things considered, Pavlidis is the top goalscorer in the league establishing himself as one of the most interesting forwards in Europe.
