In this section we present the European leagues we cover. Therefore, we have decided to rate and evaluate the Top 7 leagues in Europe: Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal) and Eredivisie (Netherlands).

GAME CHANGERS – PRIMEIRA LIGA 23/24 #2

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Primeira Liga (Liga Portugal) until January (2023/2024 Season – Games until 01/02/2024). All things considered, this type of analysis evaluates and filters the best performers with a minimum of 900 minutes played in the league and, assessing all the positions, we can evaluate a lot of factors and indicators in their games that allow us to generate and select the players with an Rating of 8.00+ : players referred to as the “Game Changers”.

GAME CHANGERS: Top Players in the Primeira Liga until 01-02-2024.
  • Player: Viktor Gyökeres

Before joining Sporting CP, Viktor Gyökeres was already a Swedish international. Obviously, the incredible play at Coventry City drew attention from Sporting CP in a large investment. Considered by many to be the best player in the league, Viktor Gyökeres has the highest average rating in the Primeira Liga until February of 2024.

Rafa Silva is continuing his great run of form at Benfica since the arrivel of Roger Schmidt. His skills with and without the ball are crucial to the team since he can show his acceleration alongside speed and dribbling, making him Benfica’s biggest offensive weapon. As a result of his great impact in Benfica´s style of play, Rafa Silva has one of the highest average ratings in the league.

As shown above, Pote is one of Sporting’s best players so it is always expected to find him in these type of rankings. It his important to realize that this year’s incredible performance has allowed Sporting CP to make up for Morita’s absence (for his national team) in the fight for the title.

    • Team: Benfica
      • Nationality: Norwegian

In consecutive seasons, Aursnes played a huge part in his teams success: firstly, helping Feyenoord reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League final and then Benfica winning the League title. Without a doubt, Aursnes continues to have a tremendous impact on the Benfica team, reinforced even more by his ability to play in almost every position in the field. Being an extremely versatile player, his ability at full-back is particularly important to adress the difficulty of finding solutions in this positions.

      • Nationality: Argentinian

Playing normally from the right hand side, Di María is a winger who enjoys cutting inside – after all, he wants to go onto his favoured left foot. With only an one year on contract, Di María can have a bad game but he has always the ability to be a “Game Changer”!

Bundesliga European Leagues

BEST PLAYERS IN BUNDESLIGA – GERMANY (FEB 2024)

In our analysis, we evaluate all the players who played in the Bundesliga until February (2023/2024 Season). In other words, we evaluate and filter the best performers with a minimum of 900 minutes played in the league. Assessing all the positions, we evaluate a lot of factors and indicators in their games that allow us to generate the ratings for their performances. As a matter of fact, in this type of analysis, the type of formation played doesnt influence or limit the ratings system.

GOALKEEPERS (GKs):

  1. Lukáš Hrádecký (Bayer Leverkusen)
  2. Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
  3. Michael Zetterer (Werder Bremen)

With incredible performances, Lukáš Hrádecký is the best performing goalkeeper until February in the german league. Playing for the team in first place, Hrádecký performances exceeded initial expectations archiving the best rating among GKs by far!

CENTRE-BACKS (CBs):

  1. Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich)
  2. Odilon Kossonou (Bayer Leverkusen)
  3. Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen)

In terms of the Centre-Backs, the Top 3 ranking is led by one of the best CB’s in the World: Kim Min-jae. As a matter of fact, Kim Min-jae leads the average rating among CBs in his first season playing in the Bundesliga, especially after dominating the Serie A in his debut season as well.

FULL-BACKS (FBs) and WING-BACKS (WBs):

  1. Álex Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen)
  2. Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)
  3. David Raum (RB Leipzig)

As shown above, in a top 3 with quality players, Álex Grimaldo archived the highest average ratings among the Full-Back and Wing-Back position. Being one of the most exciting players in the world, we can expect great attacking football play of Álex Grimaldo since he is great in terms of technical quality and excellent decision making in the final third.

MIDFIELDERS (Ms) and WINGERS (Ws):

  1. Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen)
  2. Leroy Sané (Bayern Munich)
  3. Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

With, undoubtedly, one of the greatest starts of the season by Bayer Leverkusen, Exequiel Palacios archived the highest average rating. In addition to his performances, we must emphasise the performances of Florian Wirtz and Leroy Sané since they are key contributors to the best versions of their teams.

CENTRE-FOWARDS (CFs):

  1. Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen)
  2. Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart)
  3. Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

In a league with incredible play at the top half, Victor Boniface has the highest average rating among strikers in Bundesliga until February. As a result of his performances, Victor Boniface archived the highest rating among striker in his first season in the Bundesliga. At last, but not least, we need to give credit to Serhou Guirassy and Harry Kane, players with huge contributions to theirs respective clubs.
